Looking for a Wetherby Wedding Reception Venue?

Walton Village Hall, near Wetherby in West Yorkshire, is very well-loved by its community. The charming 19th-century building is set in the tiny village of Walton, which is surrounded by farmland close to the A1.

It was used as the village school and today serves as a place for the local community to meet as well as serving as a beautiful wedding reception venue.

An intimate space, neutrally decorated with beautiful high ceilings, charming high windows, and luxury flooring, the Village Hall is the perfect setting for your wedding reception, party, or dinner.

The Weekend Wedding Reception Venue Package

Adjacent to the hall is a playground run by Walton Parish Council, which has plenty of space for a marquee, and external lighting and power supply. We have an agreement with the council to use the playground for a limited number of events per year.

Our weekend wedding package includes the use of the hall and all its facilities, access to the playground on Friday and Sunday for setting up and taking down, and exclusive use of the playground on the day of the event. In addition, you get the attention of a dedicated member of the committee to assist with the organisation when needed.

St Peter’s Church Walton

For the full, traditional, village wedding experience, Walton Village Hall works in partnership with St Peter’s Church, a very short walk away.

A BEAUTIFUL SETTING

St Peter’s is full of history, with monuments to members of the Fairfax family, traditional pews, and a heavenly, bright interior as there are no dark, Victorian stained glass windows.  Your photographer will love it!  The medieval Church of St. Peter is believed to have been built in the year 1350, though a church has been on this site for much longer.

YOUR SERVICE

While the words at the heart of a marriage service in church cannot be changed (as they are part of the legal ceremony) there is a lot of flexibility to add materials, so we can tailor the service to be as individual as each couple is. Our local vicar, The Reverend Nick Morgan and his team would be delighted to meet you to discuss how our village church can make your special day what you want it to be, and our clergy are the kind that your photographer, videographer and florist will appreciate dealing with as we know how important these elements are to a bride and groom when planning their wedding service.

After the church service, the village hall is a short walk, carriage ride, or car journey away and it can be arranged for the three bells of St Peter’s to ring out in celebration as the bride and groom lead the procession to Walton Village Hall. Whether at the village hall or the church, you can be assured of a warm, Walton welcome!

MUSIC FOR YOUR WEDDING

St Peter’s has a small organ to set the scene before the service, to play as the bride walks down the aisle, lead hymn singing, and play music as you leave. If traditional wedding music is not for you, you are welcome to bring in a small sound system if you wish to use recorded music for parts of the service.  There is also room for a singer or instrumentalist.

COST & BOOKING

A Church of England service at St Peter’s can cost as little as £750. If you wish to explore a church wedding in Walton, please contact the Parish Office for further details. Call 01937 844402 or email bramhambenefice@outlook.com.

Regrettably, it is not legally possible at the present time for St Peter’s Church to offer wedding services to same sex couples.
